    Hi,

My Cannon GL-1 can handle 16:9 format the only problem is that when I switch to this format my screen keep the images in 4:3 so I have no way of seeing it as if it was widescreen untill I view on it my computer.

I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how, when shooting, I can get a widescreen image. Either on the camera or a seperate monitor.

    Thanks,
    Sean

It depends..if the picture on the lcd is the same in both modes you can mask it with some tape to give yourself the framing or the more likely scenario is that the picture is being squished...stretched vertically actually..if this is the case the framing will be the same it just looks a bit odd because it's the 16:9 picture squeezed to fit on your screen. It's very strange that the camera won't just do the cropping itself though...best of luck to ya..
